What does Puzzazz mean?
Puzzazz is a made-up word -- a portmanteau of puzzle (a baffling problem to test your ingenuity) and
pizzazz (the quality of being exciting or attractive). We hope you find Puzzazz baffling (but not too baffling) and exciting.
What are puzzle ebooks?
Puzzazz's puzzle ebooks are the first electronic books available anywhere
that allow you to solve puzzles directly on the pages of the books, giving
you a fantastic puzzle-solving experience.
They're the first electronic books that are actually better than their paper equivalents,
and are currently available in the Puzzazz app for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch devices.
Every Puzzazz ebook is full of elegant, high-quality, enjoyable puzzles —
some of the best puzzles you'll find anywhere.

What do I need to solve Puzzazz puzzles?
Most Puzzazz puzzles are "pencil and paper" puzzles, meaning that they can be solved with just your brain.
If you're solving puzzles in one of our puzzle ebooks, our app's user interface will be optimized to help you solve,
including providing automatic hints if you want them. For web site puzzles, you don't need scissors, glue, or fancy gadgets.

Can I print puzzles?
Puzzazz doesn't provide a way to print puzzles.

Can I cheat?
That's up to you.
If you think that you're cheating, then we recommend that you don't. The only person whose fun you will be spoiling is your own.
But, we want you to have fun, and, if you're stuck, it can be more fun to get a hint to keep you going.
That's why we provide built-in hinting for every puzzle type in our ebooks.
If using a dictionary or a gadget or Google, or asking a friend for help, increases your enjoyment, then we recommend that you do.
Why do I get a Google screen when I sign in or sign up?
Rather than creating yet another account system and giving you yet another password you have to
remember, Puzzazz uses Google Accounts for authentication. Note that Puzzazz does not see your Google Account password.

Daily Puzzles
What type of puzzles are on the web site?
Puzzazz provides a free daily puzzle that changes every day.
Most of the puzzles on Puzzazz are word puzzles, but you'll sometimes see other types of puzzles.
How do I submit a solution to a daily puzzle?
Use the form on the home page or puzzle page.
How many guesses can I make?
As many as you want.
Your accuracy will reflect the ratio of accurate solutions to total guesses.
How hard are the daily puzzles?
The intent is that the puzzles are solvable in a few minutes -- it's supposed to be a short diversion, not a lengthy activity.
Sunday puzles will take longer. IN general, the puzzles increase in difficulty from Monday to Saturday.
Of course, not all puzzles are equally difficult to all people.
When are new daily puzzles released?
A new puzzle is released each day at midnight Pacific Time.
How are the statistics calculated?
A puzzle is only counted if you try to solve it, so if you skip a puzzle entirely, it won't change your solved count
and it won't break your streak of solves. Your streak is based on current puzzles only.
Accuracy is calculated as number correct divided by the total of number correct plus the number of misses.
Solving (or failing to solve) an old puzzle will affect your totals and accuracy, but not your streak.
Can I get the daily puzzles sent to me in email or text messages?
Yes. You can receive daily puzzles
in any feed reader (click here).
Do I have to sign up to solve puzzles?
No, but Puzzazz can only keep track of your solving record if you sign up. Also, registered users
can invite their friends and compare solving records.
General Questions
Are you going to sell my email address or send me spam?
Of course not. We hate that as much as you do.
That said, when you sign up for Puzzazz, we will add you to our mailing list.
Our newsletters are always about puzzles or Puzzazz, nothing off topic.
While we aim to have them read well, you will find they are short and to the point.
We send them when we have something to say, not on any schedule, and we don't send very many.
You can opt out at any time by going to the preferences page or
clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter.
